Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Counselor Education and College Student AffairsThe successful candidate will assume a range of responsibilities including (1) teaching graduate courses in BOTH Counselor Education and College Student Affairs; (2) conducting meaningful research and scholarship; (3) participating in broad-based university, college, and departmental committee work and professional service; (4) advising students; (5) supervising students in field experiences; and (6) working collaboratively with doctoral programs in the College of Education. An earned doctorate in counseling or counselor education is required (ABD considered) from a CACREP accredited program. The candidate must be licensed/certified or license/certification eligible as a professional counselor/school counselor in Georgia. Counseling experience in school or community settings is preferred. Candidates must have a strong identity as a counselor and counselor educator, as evidenced by active participation in professional counseling organizations, demonstrated commitment to and evidence of a research and publication agenda, and knowledge of and commitment to the CACREP accreditation standards and process. Desirable candidates will demonstrate excellence in teaching a broad range of graduate level counseling courses. The desirable candidate will have successful counseling experience in agencies or schools, conducting meaningful research and scholarship, teaching graduate courses, guiding graduate student research, serving on doctoral committees, identifying and pursuing collaborative and entrepreneurial opportunities, developing and providing instruction through on-line or alternative methods, and developing collaborative relationships with academic and non-academic partners.
